Rochester Hills area dentist describes dental inlays and onlays

Dr. John L. Aurelia provides a wide range of services in his Rochester Hills area practice, including cosmetic and restorative dentistry. When patients have to repair a tooth due to breakage or decay, they may have a variety of methods available for correcting the problem. In some cases, fillings may be most appropriate, while other situations may benefit from crowns. In cases where fillings are not sufficient and dental crowns may be too much, the dentist may suggest the placement of dental inlays and onlays.

Dental inlays and onlays are restorations made to cover a certain portion of the tooth. They are made to bond into the natural tooth. Often made of porcelain, the placement of inlays and onlays is discreet and blends in seamlessly with the natural tooth enamel. This ensures patients are not self-conscious about the repairs made to their smile as everything done in our practice is done with aesthetics in mind. Dr. John L. Aurelia believes in repairing smiles but also doing so with cosmetic considerations.

At the practice of Dr. John L. Aurelia, patients can enjoy the benefits of quality dentistry. Inlays and onlays are often chosen because they are conservative. The goal of every dentist is to remove as little enamel as possible when preparing teeth for restorative treatments. This is no different when it comes to areas of decay and breakage. Inlays and onlays are extremely conservative and many patients choose these for the benefit of the health and beauty of their smile.

Patients must first determine if they are proper candidates for inlays and onlays. This may require a thorough examination, x-rays, and a physical evaluation of the tooth. If dental inlays and onlays are not appropriate, patients may be introduced to other alternatives such as crowns, veneers, fillings, and dental bonding. Dr. John L. Aurelia works with patients to find out which method is most beneficial for their specific situation.

Do you believe you may be a candidate for inlays and onlays? If so, contact the practice of Dr. John L. Aurelia today. We can help determine which restorative treatment is best suited for your budget, lifestyle, and unique needs.

Terrible experience. I booked an appointment back in August for October 30 (first available). Not a big deal at all. I never received a confirmation call for my appointment which I thought was odd but still made the 30 minute drive to this highly rated offed to be told they didn’t have my appointment in part of their system but did have record of it on another part of the system. They told me I could wait and see if the next appointment didn’t show up, but the staff made it seem like it was my fault for showing up to an appointment where I didn’t get a confirmation call for. Nevertheless, I did have a text confirmation from when I scheduled the appointment months ago. Very disorganized office. Don’t waste your time. I’m sure the dentists themselves are wonderful but the office staff makes this place an office to avoid.
